Cunningham is too much of an artist to compromise (I mean that sincerely). Making films in Hollywood is always a huge compromise artistically; unless you can reach a level where you can subvert conventions and still be your own man.

Cunningham was supposed to do William Gibson's classic NEUROMANCER (he was collaborating with Gibson himself) but the guy is too "out there" for production money to be guaranteed. The project is now dead...but I hear quasi-hack Vincenzo Natali has picked up the entrails and is doing something with it. Right now Chris is just doing art shows and experimenting with the use of images+sound.

Check out his stuff here: www.chriscunningham.com

(Good luck trying to "access it." The content is there, but he makes it very hard for you...a trickster! Tip: leave the webpage open in a different tab and something will happen eventually, ha ha...)

By the way, I've been listening to the new Bjork album all day.

Kicking myself for not being able to discover it in 2011.
